Richard P. Rizzuti, M.D.

Dr. Rizzuti obtained his medical degree from East Carolina University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in general surgery at Pitt County Memorial Hospital (now Vidant Medical Center) and his plastic surgery residency at Duke University Medical Center. He received additional training in hand and microsurgery in Louisville, KY. Dr. Rizzuti is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

J. Lynne Garrison, M.D.

Dr. Garrison, a native of Greensboro, NC, obtained her medical degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She completed her residency in general surgery at Pitt County Memorial Hospital (now Vidant Medical Center) and her residency in plastic surgery at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. In addition, she received a Masters degree in Public Health from the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Garrison is certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. She is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Lori Boykin

Lori is our surgical technologist who assists both surgeons in our in-house operating suite. When not in surgery, she also takes charge of ordering clinical supplies and restocking the operating rooms and exam rooms.

Bob Sankowski

Bob is our certified registered nurse anesthetist. He is the one who administers general anesthesia to our patients in the operating suite during cosmetic surgery. He monitors the patient throughout the procedure as well as after the procedure while the patient is in the recovery room.

Debbie Hinton

Debbie is a registered nurse who is in charge of the recovery room. She assists patients in the “waking up” process and monitors vital signs until they are fully awake and ready to leave. She gives the patients and their family members instructions for postoperative care and follow-up appointments.

Annette Cash

Annette is an LPN and surgical technologist who assists Dr. Rizzuti during consultations, follow-up visits, surgery in our in-house operating suite, Vidant SurgiCenter and at Vidant Medical Center. She performs Juvederm injections and sclerotherapy.

Katina Williams

Katina is an LPN and surgical technologist who assists Dr. Garrison during consultations, follow-up visits, surgery in our in-house operating suite, Vidant SurgiCenter and at Vidant Medical Center. She performs Juvederm injections and sclerotherapy.

Jackie McLawhorn

Practice Manager

Jackie joined GPS in 1995 as the surgical coordinator. She was appointed to the office manager’s position in 2000. Outside interests include traveling, going to the beach, music, and watercolor painting.

Elizabeth Moseley

Patient Coordinator

Elizabeth joined GPS in 2000.  She is a patient coordinator  and manages our website.  She is very knowledgable about skin care products and the Brilliant Distinctions Program.  She is happy answer questions about our physicians and procedures we offer.

Rachel Hazelip

Receptionist

Rachel joined GPS in 2001.  She answers the phone and makes appointments. She is the one you will visit on your way out or on your way to visit our surgery scheduler.  She is happy to give you information about the physicians and procedures we offer.

Sharon Tyson

Surgical/Insurance Coordinator

Sharon joined GPS in 2004. She is our surgical/insurance coordinator. She prepares fee quotes for patients on procedures of interest once the patient and surgeon have consulted. She also has information regarding financing of cosmetic procedures.  She verifies insurance benefits and obtains prior authorizations as required. She schedules procedures for our in office operating suite, Vidant SurgiCenter, and Vidant Medical Center.

Jean Lilley

Insurance and Billing Specialist

Jean is our insurance and billing specialist.  She joined the practice in 2005.  She verifies insurance coverage and obtains prior authorizations for procedures that are considered medically necessary.  Jean also assists patients with billing issues, insurance claims, and the completion of necessary paperwork prior to surgery.

Diane Garris

Transcriptionist

Diane is our medical transcriptionist and medical records clerk.  She keeps our transcription up to date.  She also assists at the front desk with patients checking in and out.  She transfers before and after pictures to the patient’s profile and sends them to the patient when requested.
